PROGRAMME BACKGROUND

Navigating the world of SAP can be an incredibly challenging journey, especially for beginners without proper guidance or industry exposure. The SAP Career Mentorship Programme was created to address this challenge by offering free, personalized mentorship to those looking to build or grow their careers in the SAP ecosystem. Leveraging real-world experience, the programme provides strategic insights, practical advice, and skill development support to help mentees gain clarity, confidence, and direction as they progress on their professional journey.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVE

The objective of this six-phase mentorship programme is to equip mentees with the information, knowledge, and support necessary to accelerate career growth, enhance technical and soft skills, and navigate their professional development within the SAP ecosystem. Mentees will gain valuable mentorship that will position them for new opportunities in their chosen SAP career paths.

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

This programme features structured mentoring sessions, goal-setting, and regular check-ins to support consistent progress and open communication. It takes a comprehensive approach to enhancing both SAP solution expertise and broader career skills. Mentees will also gain access to a curated resource library with learning materials, tools, and courses tailored to their chosen SAP module. A built-in feedback loop ensures two-way communication, enriching the mentoring experience and fostering continuous growth during and beyond the programme.

Phase 2: SAP Module Mapping and Career Fit

 The program begins with a kickoff meeting where mentees and mentors meet, discuss expectations, and establish a rapport. During this initial phase, participants will receive an overview of the program objectives, outlining its purpose and key goals. Mentees and mentors will collaborate to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) career goals. By the end of this phase, mentees will have set clear SAP career goals.

 In this phase, mentees are guided through a structured exploration of various SAP portfolios and modules, such as  SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba, SAP BTP, and more. Through discussions and insights into industry demands, mentors help mentees identify the module that best aligns with their backgrounds, interests, and career aspirations. The goal of this phase is to ensure that mentees are able to make an informed and confident decision that sets the foundation for long-term success in their SAP journey.

In this phase, mentees will dive deeper into their chosen SAP modules or areas, working through various SAP training platforms and other SAP e-learning resources. While mentors may not be directly involved in training mentees in their SAP module of choice, they can guide mentees through numerous SAP training options. By the end of this phase, mentees should have a good understanding of the different platforms available to learn specific SAP solutions and their practical applications.

 At this stage, mentees will focus on preparing for SAP certification exams, a valuable credential for validating their SAP skills and knowledge. Mentors will guide mentees through the certification requirements, study materials, and key focus areas to ensure mentees are well-prepared for the certification. By the end of this phase, mentees should be ready to confidently attempt their SAP certification exams.

 In this phase, the focus shifts to preparing mentees for their first SAP role. Mentors will review mentees' resumes, thus ensuring they have polished, professional resumes that position them as strong candidates. Mentors will offer practical tips for acing SAP job interviews and excelling in the workplace as an SAP professional. Guidance will also be provided on building a professional network within the SAP community.

 Together, mentors and mentees will review the programme, reflecting on key achievements, lessons, and challenges. There will be an exchange of feedback on the mentoring experience, and mentors will guide mentees in creating a clear roadmap for continuous growth, including recommendations for further SAP training, workshops and certifications, as well as future mentorship opportunities.

  • The mentorship programme is FREE and open to interested participants from all over the world.
  • The programme is held only once a year and it will run through all the phases listed above.
  • The phases described above can also be aligned with months (e.g., Phase 1 = Month 1) and may overlap depending on the mentee’s progress and specific needs.
  • Please note that this is a cohort-based mentorship programme. One-to-one mentoring will only be provided based on individual needs.
  • There are only limited spaces available for now, though we hope to expand capacity in the future.
  • As mentors are also busy professionals, only dedicated and serious applicants will be accepted into the programme.
